Abstract:With the continuous advancement of urban renewal, the structural safety of the hollow-box flood control wall in the Bund has drawn increasing attention. There is a dense flow of people in the Bund, and the crowd load is one of the key factors affecting the structural safety. In the densely populated Bund area, crowd load is a key factor affecting structural safety, therefore it is urgent to clarify the reasonable limit of crowd load. Based on the actual design parameters of the top structure of hollow-box flood control wall in the Bund, the finite element method is used to simulate and analyze the stress situation at the top structure of flood control wall under various crowd loads, and reveal the internal force distribution patterns. The results indicate that the crowd load limit to meet the safety requirements of top structure is 5 kN/m2. It is recommended that the pedestrian density is controlled within 7 persons per square meter. The research results can provide the important theoretical basis and reference for the subsequent safety assessment, reinforcement design and routine management of flood control wall.
