Abstract:Street space is the most important public space in cities. The traditional road engineering design concepts can no longer meet the diverse travel and leisure needs of urban residents. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate the design concepts and methods. Starting from the evolution of street space design in Chengdu, three development stages of the exploration period of “small block regulation”, the steady promotion period of park city street integrated design and the improvement period of street integrated design quality facing park block are expounded. From the key points of design, the road space is gradually transformed into an open block. The design scope is advanced from the red line interior space to the “U-shaped space”. And the service function is from the initial transportation function to the spatial consumption, spatial leisure and spatial management and so on. The spatial design of street based on the park block is introduced. In the context of building park blocks, Tianfu New Area pays close attention to the problem of scene construction in street space. And the new concept and control method for municipal pipeline control zones are put forward. Finally, the construction cases of Tianfu Haichuang Park and Chengdu Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences provide the innovative practical experience for the construction of urban new areas.
