Abstract:The New Airport Expressway Connecting Line (Shuangbu - Xiazhuang) Project is an important part of the expressway network in Qingdao, and is also an essential supporting road of Jiaodong International Airport. Its total length is about 9.8 km mainly with the elevated bridge in the whole line. The engineering alignment involves many complex factors of existing railways and expressways, on-built and planned metros, height restriction area of airport, and water source protection area with the complex boundary conditions and great implementation difficulties. Furthermore, as the “Yingbin Avenue” from the urban area to Jiaodong Airport, its geographical location is particularly important, and the bridge landscape positioning is high. The design essentials in the overall layout, structural form, node scheme and landscape of the bridge in the New Airport Expressway Connecting Line (Shuangbu - Xiazhuang) Project are analyzed, which can be referenced for the similar projects.
