Abstract:Hangnan Highway is an important east-west artery in Fengxian District, Shanghai, and also the central road in the planning area of Nanqiao New Town. Due to the optimized adjustment of its area planning and the rapid growth of traffic demand, it is urgent to carry out the reconstruction and expansion. Based on a thorough understanding of the control relationship between the planning and design schemes of rail transit, trams and the Jinhai Road Reconstruction Project, and the road reconstruction project of Hangnan Highway (east of S4 Overpass — Jinhai Highway), a targeted analysis is conducted on the functional positioning, design standards and control factors of the road reconstruction project. A traffic organization scheme combining rail transit, trams and Hangnan Highway is proposed. Finally, the design scheme with five cross-sectional layouts and three broadened channelized intersection nodes is formed, which can provide the empirical references for the scheme design of the similar projects.
