Abstract:A refined asphalt-aggregate separation technology of reused asphalt pavement (RAP) material is introduced. The separation effect and caking composition of this technology are evaluated through the extracting and screening tests. And at the same time, the repeated caking phenomenon of RAP is compared under the different stacking conditions. The results show that the asphalt-aggregate ratio of more than 3 mm coarse RAP material can be reduced by 1.23% ~ 2.4% after the refined asphalt-aggregate separation. The caking level after its separation will increase with the increase of grain size. The used material particles of a certain size are mainly composed of aggregates above 2.36 mm and powders below 0.15 mm. It is recommended that the indoor closed storage is used for the separated RAP, the stocking height of 0~3 mm RAP is less than 5 m, the stocking time of 0~3 mm and 3~5 mm RAP should not exceed 7 days, and the moisture content of RAP should be controlled within 1.5%.
