The second ring road is an important urban ring expressway in Shijiazhuang. To further promote the outward development of the city and realize the interconnection of intersecting roads with the second ring road, based on the ground expressway which was built in 2010, the upgrading and transformation scheme of second ring road was proposed. This paper analyzes the scheme from the following aspects: project background, engineering survey, overall scheme, node scheme and so on. It also introduces in detail the main road transformation forms of the second ring road, the current interchange and weaving section connection plans, the old bridge jacking plans and the entrance and exit arrangement plans etc., which are based on various current limited conditions. It is expected to provide a certain reference for the same type of ground expressway upgrading and transformation projects.
