For the mix proportion design of permeable concrete, the design parameters of traditional methods are mainly based on the target porosity and aggregate compact packing density. There are some defects, such as lack of basis for strength design, large deviation of actual porosity from the target value, and inability to guarantee the permeable function of concrete. Therefore, a new mix proportion design method is proposed by introducing the parameters slurry thickness and aggregate specific surface area. This method is based on the slurry uniform wrapping model and aggregate characteristics. The slurry volume can be determined by the specific surface area of aggregate, and then the mix proportion can be obtained. The research shows that the permeable concrete designed by the new method has good adaptability under different strength and aggregate characteristics, and meets the design requirements of mechanical properties while having good water permeability.
