By reviewing the related study on the compound channel, the positive significance of compound channel of highway and expressway is summarized. It is pointed out that the main difficulties in the construction of compound channel are to select the channel corridor and the layout mode, to reduce the complexity of the nodes, and to solve the transition needs among various systems and the complexity of construction organization. Taking the compound channel of Guangfo Shinkansen in Foshan City as an example, the treatment ideas of the above difficulties are briefly introduced, and finally several key problems existing in the construction of compound channel are analyzed so as to provide a certain basis for the construction of this type of road.
